The Great Synthesizer

Conceptual impressions surrounding this post have yet to be substantiated, corroborated, or confirmed or woven into a larger argument, context or network.

A design’s meaning is reflected symbolically into qualities attributed to its form and its purpose. Design is above all, the catalytic force behind the creation of relationships. Design is the universal synthesizing agent.

Scientifically, the universe has been described as being composed of countless vibratory elements, all participating within a matrix where forms are perceived as waves, i.e. disturbances. Light is a prime example where its’ quality can be measured and observed both as a particle and as a wave. Light has the potential to be both meaningful and purposeful, depending upon the “form” in which it is perceived.

These wave formations appear as temporary patterns from a human point of view. Likened to a wave form radiating outward from a stone thrown into a still pond, the time in which the “form” remains effective is dependent upon the impact of the disturbance and the viscosity, i.e. density, of the medium in which such a wave appears.

These disturbances occur at all levels, i.e. spectrums, in the universe and are learned by “experiencing” them through our senses, physically, mentally and/or emotionally. All forms of energy vibrate and therefore exhibit a frequency, or specific imprint, of their own making. A study into these vibratory patterns provides a key into understanding the universe and the forces that unite and organize them into assorted constructs.

The most striking of these universal impressions is made through sound, especially when sound is experienced in the form of music. An intuitional response to what is being perceived, i.e. heard, and/or observed through music, is delicately interwoven into our experiences and can therefore deeply affect our consciousness.

Music can be measured and deeply felt by igniting the imagination. The harmony of the spheres is a discriminating example of the power of design, a symbolic resource that allows for the merging of both the seen and the unseen, our imagination and our experiences.

Design makes the connections. Design allows the unseen vibrations that surface from the depths of the unknown to enter, and give relative form to, the feelings and imaginings of a three-dimensional universe. Design allows an observer to witness itself, an experience that for some, may appear to represent and describe the soul.

In order to form a thought, our imagination affords us the opportunity to create an image of our desire in the likeness of an idea. Our imagination also exercises a subjective desire to subsist. We are hardwired by nature to use and rely upon our imagination for survival.

We recognize patterns when we are in search of the meanings behind our thoughts, as well as attempting to grasp the logic in support of their purposes. This is the ongoing pursuit that helps identify and comprehend the concepts of pure reason, kama-manas and the intelligence of the heart as being one in the same.
