Conceptual impressions surrounding this post are have yet to be substantiated, corroborated, confirmed or woven into a larger argument or network.
Design creates a relationship between sign and symbol, parts of energy that when made coherent allows for the appearance of every event and experience. Consciousness becomes revealed by means of design.
Design comes to fruition and is made apparent by means of a series of events and experiences, i.e. systems of exploration created for the purpose of knowing. Design attempts to make known the unknown. Language , mathematics, the sciences, the arts, religion, etc. are designs of our own making created solely for this purpose. Each of us play a part in this investigation by means of our own designs.

When appropriately linked we become attracted to a greater sense of knowing. Design harbors the potential of giving form to the formless. When made coherent we each contribute to a greater consciousness yet to be filled.
“Shape clay into a vessel;
It is the space within that makes it useful.”
Tao Te Ching, Lao Tsu

Knowing and Not Knowing
Purpose enters the field of design
by moving with the readiness of knowing.
Meaning enters the field of design
by moving with the readiness of not knowing.
Together they give honor to both the new and the old.
As purpose becomes attracted to the emptiness of meaning and meaning to the purpose of fullness,
balance makes its appearance by virtue of design.
Mind strives to understand that which it cannot with thought alone.
